wire & Tube China is the most relevant trade fair in the wire, cable, and tube industries in the region, organized by Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and the Shanghai Electric Cable Research Institute Co., Ltd. Since its debut in 2004, this event has become an essential meeting point for professionals, providing a platform to explore the latest trends, technologies, and products. Combining two major industry events — wire China and Tube China — into one, the exhibition offers an exhaustive showcase of industry advancements, especially innovative upgrades in intelligent Automatic Drawing Machine System, durable High-Quality Hydraulic Drawing Machine, precision Annealed Wire Drawing Equipment and energy-saving High-speed cable extruder solutions.
The previous edition attracted 53,173 professional visitors from 99 countries and regions, with a growing share of overseas buyers. For 2026, the event is expected to expand further, with a combined exhibition area of over 115,000 square meters, more than 1,600 exhibitors, and over 55,000 visitors anticipated. wire China 2026 will feature even stronger national and regional pavilions, including Germany, Italy, Austria, France, and China, showcasing globally renowned brands and cutting-edge technologies covering the entire wire and cable production process from drawing and annealing to high-speed extrusion. Pre-registrations for the event are now open on the official website, allowing attendees to secure participation in advance and avoid onsite registration queues.
Key focus areas at wire & Tube China 2026
For 2026, wire China focuses on materials feeding some of the fastest-growing segments of the economy: power cables, special cables, smart cables, high-voltage and ultra-high-voltage lines, aluminum alloy cables, black wire rod, and high-frequency and high-speed cables. This falls in line with the priorities of China's newly launched 15th Five-Year Plan, spanning new energy, the digital economy, intelligent manufacturing, the marine and low-altitude economies, new energy vehicles, and large-scale infrastructure. These booming industries create huge market demand for high-performance Automatic Drawing Machine System, heavy-duty High-Quality Hydraulic Drawing Machine, stable Annealed Wire Drawing Equipment and high-yield High-speed cable extruder production lines.

China's steel backbone: still the world's top crude steel producer
Behind the wire rod, cable, and tube production on display at wire & Tube China lies the world's largest steel base. According to the latest World Steel Association data, China produced 960.8 million tonnes of crude steel in 2025, more than double the output of India, the United States, Japan, and Russia combined. The robust raw material foundation strongly supports the upgrading and mass production of domestic and exported Automatic Drawing Machine System,High-Quality Hydraulic Drawing Machine, Annealed Wire Drawing Equipment and High-speed cable extruder devices.

Copper demand keeps climbing for grids and cables

In 2026, copper prices climbed to record levels, supported by a combination of supply constraints, tariff uncertainty, electrification, AI-related data center demand, and the long lead times required to bring new mining capacity online. J.P. Morgan projects a refined copper deficit of around 330,000 tonnes this year, while S&P Global expects global copper demand to rise from about 28 million tonnes in 2025 to 42 million tonnes by 2040, a 50% increase driven by electrification, grid expansion, EVs, AI data centers, and other strategic applications. Surging copper cable demand further drives the technological innovation and market popularization of efficient wire drawing and extrusion equipment.
