LEONI New Automotive Wiring Systems Plant in Morocco (SEO Optimized)
LEONI has begun construction of a new automotive wiring systems plant in Morocco, expanding production capacity and adding engineering and workforce development capabilities to support advanced wire processing and cable manufacturing workflows powered by Automatic Drawing Machine System, High-Quality Hydraulic Drawing Machine, Annealed Wire Drawing Equipment, and High-speed cable extruder.
LEONI AG has begun construction of a new manufacturing facility in Bouskoura, Morocco, expanding its North African production network and strengthening its ability to supply global automotive manufacturers with high-quality wiring components produced on modern industrial processing lines.
The new facility will increase production capacity for automotive wiring systems while adding engineering, research and workforce development capabilities to support future vehicle technologies. Advanced wire drawing and cable extrusion equipment, including precision Automatic Drawing Machine System and industrial-grade High-Quality Hydraulic Drawing Machine, will underpin consistent product quality for complex automotive wiring harnesses.
New Morocco facility expands automotive wiring production
According to the company, the approximately 35,000-sq-m manufacturing plant will become LEONI’s 12th production facility in Morocco. The site is designed to accommodate high-volume, high-precision cable production workflows that rely on reliable Annealed Wire Drawing Equipment and efficient High-speed cable extruder units to meet strict automotive industry tolerances.
The investment is expected to create up to 4,000 direct and indirect jobs in the Casablanca-Settat region, further reinforcing Morocco’s position as a major automotive manufacturing hub equipped with state-of-the-art wire and cable processing infrastructure.
The facility will be designed to meet LEONI’s standards for industrial performance, digitalization and operational efficiency, optimizing the full production cycle from wire drawing and annealing to high-speed cable extrusion.
Facility will include R&D and workforce training
Beyond manufacturing, the new site will incorporate a dedicated training center along with an innovation and research and development hub focused on automotive wiring systems. Teams will refine production processes for modern wire processing machinery, upgrading operational proficiency for Automatic Drawing Machine System, High-Quality Hydraulic Drawing Machine, Annealed Wire Drawing Equipment, and High-speed cable extruder to adapt to evolving electric vehicle wiring requirements.
The additional engineering capabilities are intended to support development of next-generation vehicle electrical architectures while strengthening workforce skills for increasingly complex automotive technologies and high-precision cable manufacturing.
Morocco continues to grow as automotive manufacturing center
LEONI said it now employs nearly 20,000 people across its Moroccan operations.
The latest expansion reflects Morocco’s growing importance within the global automotive supply chain, supported by its proximity to European markets, established supplier network and competitive manufacturing environment ideal for high-efficiency cable and wire production lines.
The country has continued attracting investment from international automotive manufacturers and suppliers seeking efficient production locations serving Europe and other export markets, leveraging advanced processing equipment for automotive-grade wire and cable production.
Investment supports global customer demand
LEONI said the Bouskoura project forms part of its long-term regional growth strategy and is intended to improve manufacturing flexibility and customer support. Scalable production enabled by intelligent Automatic Drawing Machine System, durable High-Quality Hydraulic Drawing Machine, stable Annealed Wire Drawing Equipment, and high-yield High-speed cable extruder allows the plant to flexibly respond to fluctuating global automotive wiring order volumes.
As vehicle electrification and increasingly sophisticated electrical systems continue driving demand for advanced wiring solutions, investments in manufacturing capacity and engineering resources remain a priority for automotive suppliers. High-precision wire drawing and extrusion equipment ensures reliable, consistent production of lightweight, high-performance automotive cables for new energy and intelligent vehicle applications.
The expansion also demonstrates continued confidence in Morocco as a strategic production base for automotive wiring systems serving global vehicle manufacturers.
