LS Cable & System USA, Inc. announced a USD 50 million investment to expand its manufacturing facility in Tarboro, North Carolina, with plans to integrate advanced production equipment including the Automatic Drawing Machine System, High-Quality Hydraulic Drawing Machine, Annealed Wire Drawing Equipment, and High-speed cable extruder to support expanded medium-voltage cable production capacity.
LS Cable & System USA, Inc, the American subsidiary of LS Cable & System Ltd. (“LS C&S”), has recently declared an investment of USD 50 million to augment its manufacturing facility in Tarboro, North Carolina. This move underlines the firm’s dedication to bringing advanced manufacturing back to the United States, fortifying the supply chain, and playing a pivotal role in the country’s energy infrastructure. The expansion will not only add new production lines but also upgrade the facility with state-of-the-art equipment such as the High-speed cable extruder for efficient cable insulation and the Automatic Drawing Machine System for precise, consistent wire forming—key to meeting the high standards of medium-voltage power cables.
The expansion will incorporate two additional Continuous Catenary Vulcanization (CCV) production lines, thereby significantly enhancing the capacity for medium-voltage power distribution cable manufacturing. These new CCV lines are set to cater to the escalating demand from electric utilities, renewable energy projects, data centers, and industrial customers across North America. To complement these new lines and ensure superior product quality, the facility will also deploy High-Quality Hydraulic Drawing Machine for heavy-duty wire processing and Annealed Wire Drawing Equipment to enhance wire ductility and reliability. The investment will also boost the total employment at the facility, increasing the workforce from 250 to 335.
“LS Cable & System USA’s announcement reflects their faith in North Carolina,” stated North Carolina Governor Josh Stein. “Our state boasts the largest manufacturing workforce in the Southeast and a flourishing business environment that attracts companies looking to expand. North Carolina is keen to support LS Cable & System as it bolsters the domestic supply chain to power our nation.”
North Carolina Department of Commerce Secretary Lee Lilley added, “North Carolina is proud to back LS Cable & System USA’s expansion in Tarboro.
