Erema Redesigns Extruder System for Recycling, Optimizing Compatibility with Cable Machinery

2025 12/25

The Intarema TVEplus extruder system for recycling, a game-changer for wire and cable machinery applications, is more compact and produces higher-quality pellets than its predecessors.b93b2f1f-762a-45e2-a4f3-248a484e3b36

Intarema TVEplus, Erema’s innovative recycling extruder system, enables trouble-free processing of hard-to-handle materials—including heavily printed films and very moist materials—making it a versatile complement to cable manufacturing machine operations. It integrates ultrafine filtration, melt homogenization, and high-performance degassing into a single, streamlined step. Among the materials it can efficiently process are PE washed flakes, low-density PE (LDPE) washed flakes, PP film, and PE film—raw materials widely used in wire and cable production.

What’s new? The second-to-largest model, the 2021, first unveiled by Erema at the K show, has undergone further enhancements. Unlike the previous dual-extruder design connected by a melt pipe, the Intarema TVEplus adopts a single-extruder structure, which not only reduces the equipment footprint but also improves operational stability for wire take up machine and other downstream cable processing equipment. This upgraded system joins a larger model released by Erema last summer, which boasts a throughput of over 4.4 tons per hour. It is equipped with Erema’s proprietary Counter Current technology, which continuously feeds the extruder with preheated material that is 9 to 27 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than that from conventional cutter-compactor systems. This preheating advantage boosts efficiency and pellet quality, critical for supporting high-standard cable manufacturing workflows.

BenefitsThe redesigned system delivers exceptional cost-effectiveness and process reliability, while yielding even higher-quality recycled pellets. Compared to prior cascade designs, the new recycling system is more than 6.5 feet shorter, saving valuable factory floor space for arranging cable machinery and wire and cable machinery lines. Additionally, the single-extruder design reduces melt temperature, lowers energy consumption, and minimizes maintenance requirements—translating to lower operational costs for cable manufacturers.
